"Don't buy a phone from Best Buy in Fredericksburg, they won't honor their warranty"

My husband purchased us Samsung Zfold 4 from Best Buy, located at 1541 Carl D Silver Pkwy in Fredericksburg, VA during the summer of 2022, which included a 2 year warranty, which would go into affect after Samsung's 1 year warranty. In September 2024 I started having problems when I folded my phone to normal phone size. I initally started having the problem where I would get messages from Verizon stating I needed to register my phone and/or messages stating I did not have a Verizon account, which are both untrue. I went into the Best Buy, stood in line at the Geek Squad for over an hour since I did not have an appointment, just to be told they couldn't find anything wrong with my phone. Not even a week later, I unfolded my phone after turning it on, only to see a new message stating I needed to add a SIM card to my phone, that it was missing a SIM card. The next message was that I could only make Emergency phone call. I was not allowed to call out and neither could I receive in coming calls. I made an appointment right after Columbus Day, and took the phone in to be serviced. After waiting over an hour, I was told the store did not have the equipment to repair my phone, and their system would not allow them to replace the phone because in the system it was showing that SAMSUNG had provided the tools to fix the hardware issue I was having. I waited while the Best Buy rep contacted corporate, who was unable to remove the error. I continued having issues once I close my phone. The phone stopped responding to finger touch, and I have to use a S-pen now to operate it. I commute over 58 miles one-way to my job, and I travel early morning in the VA/DC/MD area. I cannot afford to have a phone that does not work. I made several more appointments between October and the week before Christmas, trying desperately to get my phone fixed or replaced. In November I contacted BestBuy corporate office and spoke with a woman named MeeMe (sp?) who assured me she was going to reach out the Store manager via email with approval to replace my phone. She did make an appointment for me, however when I arrived and asked about the email from BestBuy Corporate, I was informed they had received no such email from Corporate, and I got the same run around that their store did not have the equipment and they could not replace the phone despite there being a warranty. When I talked to them about Corporate stating they were authorized to replace the phone, I was told by the manager that it was the Geek Squad's Corporate Office that was denying the request not BestBuy Corporate. My last visit to the Best Buy at 1541 Carl D Silver Pkwy in Fredericksburg, was the week before Christmas. I got more of the same run around and was told that the store had found another Best Buy store in Falls Church, VA that did have the equipement to fix my phone, but that I had to pay $400 to get it fixed, that they would not honor the warranty I had with the store in Fredericksburg, where I only had to pay $99 for the repair. I told them that I should not have to travel 90 minutes away AND pay $400 to get my phone fixed. I'm at the point where I am ready to file a claim in Smalls Claim just to get my phone fixed or replaced. My recomendation is DO NOT BUY A PHONE FROM THIS BEST BUY!!! They will NOT honor their warranty for fixing or replacing your phone.

Bought what I thought was brand new computer. When I got it home it had someone's name and email set up in the computer. They denied selling it previous and said they would clean the computer and give it back. Not an honest store

"I bought a open box Samsung"

I bought a open box Samsung - Galaxy Tab A7 Lite 8.7" 64 GB - Wi-Fi - Dark Gray and it was locked with the last person's information! Samsung has a new anti theft on the devices now. Even after a hard reset. Since it was open box they would not let me buy a new one at the sale price of 99.00 they wanted to charge me 40 more buck to exchange! Sold me a brick! Wasted five hours of my time!

"Terrible install scheduling"

I have no issue with the products they sell but their chat support and service repair are terrible. First I purchased an install. They sent an mail with "instructions" it was a link back to the order details. I called Geek Squad and they sent a link via chat to schedule. That link took me to a webpage that then sent me to the app and opened a page to check on a scheduled appointment. Clicked on that and a blank page. 2 hours in 2 chats just went nowhere. Got someone on the phone and after 30 minutes of I can't help or refund your money, but hey let me transfer you. 4 transfers later and the line went dead. Did they call back even though they have a callback number? NO.NEVER buy an install from these people. I would gladly pay 4x as much somewhere they will actually do the install.Looks like I lost my money.

"I tried to call the store {Benton."

I tried to call the store {Benton Hatrbor,Mi} and got connected to someone at Best Buy customer service who was going to connect me to the store but he transferred me to someone from who knows what dept. Then I got transferred to someone in customer service again not the store and finally got the info, I needed spent almost 20 minutes on the phone which should have been about 5 minute phone call.

"These guys are down right unscrupulous."

These guys are down right unscrupulous fraudsters. I bought a sharp Roku 65" tv from them thinking it was a heckuva deal. 3 months after we got it, the back light went out on it and we were greeted with a black screen with a faint image on it of what we were watching. We contacted customer support to report the defective unit and they said since it was a black Friday special there was only 90 days warranty and we were presently at day 92.No matter how hard we tried to make our case, they would not budge, would not give us a credit for another TV, NOTHING! Seeing as how I have repaired other TV's in the past, I figured i would give this one a go since it was probably the same thing, underCaps or resistors. When I took off the back cover and internal grounding plate, I was met with something I was dumbfounded. NONE of the boards were Sharp! They were from some company that sharp had subcontracted to and they had installed defective parts so that the Sharp brand was inferior to the main line in China. Sharp got wind of it and yanked the contract, pulled all the defective TV's off of the shelves and re-issued the TV's with actual Sharp products inside. 3 months later, Best Buy somehow got a hold of these defective units and sold them as actual Sharp Roku TV's. The only thing on the TV that said Sharp was the little emblem on the front. The original sticker on the back from the Sharp factory with the Model number and the serial number had been removed and replaced with a Best Buy sticker with their own serial number on it. Best buy had to know these were defective TV's BEFORE they sold them, as it was plain to see that Sharp had yanked them. Whoever was supposed to scrap them obviously sold them to Best Buy and they decided to rip people off and make a quick buck. I have never been back through their doors since. They got the money for the TV, but those shysters will never see another red cent of my money.

"Extremely Disappointing Service."

I recently purchased a refrigerator from this electronics store, and I must express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service provided. The entire experience has been a nightmare, leaving me feeling helpless and frustrated.Firstly, the delivery process was far from smooth. After waiting for five days for the scheduled delivery, two technicians arrived on the appointed day. However, their behavior was astonishingly unprofessional. Not a single word was exchanged, not even a simple greeting. They glanced around, seemingly uninterested, and left abruptly. To make matters worse, they failed to return later that day as promised.Upon reaching out to three different phone numbers, I discovered the technicians claimed there was no clear path for delivery. Contrary to their statement, there was a clear path, and it appeared they simply didn't want to do the job themselves. I was informed that I needed to reschedule the appointment. This process, however, proved to be a bureaucratic nightmare.Attempting to reschedule on the same day proved futile. I had to wait 24-48 hours before attempting to schedule the next available appointment. This is highly inconvenient, especially considering I had purchased a refrigerator, a vital appliance for my household. With children at home, the need to prepare food is constant, and the lack of a working refrigerator left me in a vulnerable and frustrating situation.The level of customer care demonstby this electronics store is abysmal. It is evident that their processes are nonsensical and lack any consideration for the urgent needs of their customers. The fact that no one could offer assistance or a timely resolution to such a critical matter is unacceptable.In conclusion, I strongly advise against purchasing from this electronics store. The indifferent attitude towards customer needs and the sheer lack of accountability in their processes make it an experience I would not wish upon anyone. It seems as though they expect customers to wait indefinitely, and this kind of service is simply intolerable.

"Refurbished', 'Open Box'"

Their 'refurbished' products are customer returns and demo units with no refurbishment done despite advertising as such. I was sent a broken charger with a MacBook covered in dirt and hair embedded inside the charger with a bent pin - it could have caused a fire had I not noticed it.They're completely apathetic and detached offering a coupon to shop with them again as the 'solution'. Their practices are truly CBC Marketplace Investigation worthy and I'm going to bring it; this isn't a one off experience.
