I hadn't made a purchase from Best Buy since I took my laptop in to get a new screen after one of my grandkids broke it. They told me it would cost $400 to replace it, and I told them it was only $400 brand new. All they wanted you do was sell me a new one. I went home and watched a YouTube video and found a new screen online for $90.00. It took me all of 10 minutes fix it. Fast forward to a month ago, when I was looking for a specific type of overhead floor lamp online. I was having trouble finding what I wanted, and Best Buy had one that would work. I received a box that had obviously been opened previously to me receiving it, which is always scary. When I opened the box, tiny bits of broken Styrofoam flew into the air, all over my living room. The original large piece of Styrofoam that held the lamp parts in place in the box, had been broken into much smaller pieces, then just thrown back into the box randomly. I assume whoever bought it first, broke up the piece of Styrofoam into little pieces in order to throw them away, before realizing they didn't want the lamp. And of course the hardware was missing. I was leaving the country shortly after opening it, and just stuck the box in my garage, avoiding it, because I can't even open the box without the thousands of tiny pieces of Styrofoam flying around, from where they broke it. I am not looking forward to making another huge mess, now in my garage. I can't believe Best Buy would ship out the lamp without even looking in the box to see if it was packaged correctly, and if all the parts were there. Never again. I have made my last purchase through Best Buy.

"RIP OFF ARTISTS & EXPERTS ..."

NO customer service whatsoever! Charged me $21.26 for a video game which I returned untouched and they NEVER gave me a refund. What a shame they used to be a somewhat decent company, NOT ANYMORE and NEVER AGAIN ...

Forget going to any store which will be understocked, overpriced and Full of condescending Employees that are just a step above retardation offering ZERO help. The website is no better. The site is so messy that you can't save or update let alone try to purchase Anything! Your Credit Cards and PayPal will both be denied at checkout citing their out of date and stupid policies. They Will offer you a Best Buy Credit Card at Bend You Over Up The Ass Interest!!!!

"Don't waste your time shopping here"

Don't waste your time shopping here. Nothing is cheaper or even more convenient. And as far as online, just use Amazon or anything major retailer like Walmart. Atleast you'll save a dollar and have it shipped sooner. The only redeeming feature is the physical store but even that can't be trusted. My last three experiences with Best Buy would start online with me seeing that the item is in stock. Now obviously it being in stock is an important factor when online shopping seeing as I can just take a short drive and not need to wait or pay for shipping. But they lie and manipulate their way into a sale with this method. They claim that the item is in stock and can be picked up in an hour. If you go this route you have to pay online first (no cash option). Fine, so then you'd assume you'd be able to call the store and double check it can be picked up and paid for in person. But nope, your call goes to a call center and then they say they can't call the store. It's 2024 everyone has a phone, this is done on purpose. They ultimately want the sale finalized so they can then tell you later it's actually not in stock and it can now be shipped to you. Or say you go there anyway and waste your time and gas bc you know they say you can't call so only other way to find out if they have it is to physically go there. Doing it this way makes the scam clear. They'll pretend they system is hard to update and smile in your face. Anyways, this is a easy mistake that could be fix but they care more about the bottom line. They rather get the sale at your expense. This is a key reason physical stores will seize to exist in the near future. They are turning the only convenient aspect of there business model into an inconvenient one. Don't feed these greedy companies that are trying to suck out as much profit as possible before there inevitable extinction.

"Great service today in Tampa from Dave."

Great service today in Tampa from Dave in the camera/microphone/creator section! I wanted to purchase a rode caster pro II today & I asked Dave to purchase one & he gave me great customer service. Unfortunately they were out of stock of XLR cables & I know for some reason Best Buy don't let their staff order new stock until the old stock is completely depleted. which is quite odd when it's things like XLR cables that are an item people will purchase frequently. Plus having a good stock of cables etc in a brick & mortar store is where you will get purchases ahead of Amazon because it is physically there already & people don't have to wait, esp important for content creators. Regardless, Dave brought me the product & told me all about how good the product was. He was very knowledgable & wasn't talking rubbish because I know a lot about the product too. Dave carried the product all the way to the front for me & we chatted while he then rung me up on the register. Very nice guy, quick, efficient & friendly! Thanks Dave!

"Breaking Customer Promises and The Harms of Online Business"

I ordered a laptop from BestBuy on sale. The next day, I received an email that the order was cancelled. I pulled up a chat to ask why exactly my order was cancelled. They don't deliver to hotels. Okay. Sure. I asked if I could change the address to my work place and was told to fully re-order everything and I would receive a refund for the post-sale price difference. Okay. Sure. I received the laptop, and it wouldn't turn on. I took it to my nearest BestBuy. They swap it out easy as pie. I think to myself, "I should've just gone here from the beginning." Ah, but no matter. I have a laptop and it works great! I wait a week. No refund. I call them. They assure me, I'll receive an e-mail with the refund in 48-72 hours. Okay. Sure. I wait another week, just to give them space to process the influx of end of year orders. No refund. I call them again. "The billing cycle takes a month," they tell me, "the refund will come in around 30 days." Okay. Sure. It's been four months, friends, and I finally reach out again. Armed with my case ID number, three BestBuy supplied chat logs of customer service agents promising me my refund, a free day and a whole lot of righteous fury. How could they deny me this? I explain all of this to John, the customer service agent. And what does he say to me?"Sorry to hear this, it is very disappointing, however I will try to resolve your issue as soon as possible. I would like to inform you that, we do not have an option to honor the price match for the old price for canceled order."...What? Excuse me? I explain again, "They've all told me differently. I have evidence of your company representatives promising me this refund.""I'm truly sorry to hear about your experience and I'm sorry you are having to face this issue. Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience caused and incorrect information provided by previous agent. As it is canceled order we do not have an option to honor the previous sale price." John tells me, merciless.But it wasn't just one agent, I argue. I have proof. They all told me the same thing. So, I Karen. I admit it, I tell him, "Let me speak to a supervisor.""I can surely arrange for a supervisor, but I want to let you know that I've thoroughly investigated all potential solutions in this situation. Believe me, if there were any available options to provide you with refund, I would have already taken care of it. Getting a supervisor wouldn't have been necessary since I've already explored this option on your behalf." John tells me.And here's the thing, friends, I do believe him. He doesn't seem like a bad guy, even though he's complicit in stealing money from me, but in the words of an anachronistic Anne Boleyn, like what was I supposed to do? What's the worst thing that can happen, John, if I ask to speak to your manager? Explain it to me.Is it a waste of my time? Four months after the theft occurred, to chase down $430 like some cadaver dog sniffing up and down a river after the frost melted to see if I can pick up on a trail? After four months, will one more conversation, one more long shot, really be the straw that breaks my back?? At worst, what will happen, John? Will I waste more company time? Good. I hope I waste at least $430 of company time. Frankly, I hope I waste more.A supervisor is reviewing the chat logs now before they get back to me. They're a floor supervisor, but they didn't provide a name. Pray for me, friends.

"I purchased a new LG washer & dryer."

I purchased a new LG washer & dryer together with installation fees and haul away fees. The total was apx. $2,000.I ordered the two in December, 2023. On the 31st of January, 2024 (one month later) my washer and dryer arrived. The washer was damaged, however, so the Geek Squad only installed my dryer and hauled the old one away. They ordered another washer.Another month passed, and on February 28 the Geek Squad delivered my washer; however, they refused to install it or haul the old washer away - despite the fact that those services had been paid for in December of last year. The delivery people also refused to call their office to verify any information.Now, I have to be home for another 1/2 day for Best Buy to come to my house for the third time - this time to install the washer and remove the old one.I will never buy anything I can't carry out of the store from Best Buy again, and I advise you to be careful if you buy anything from them on line.

"Customer No-Service"

I was planning to buy a new (expensive) laptop as well as other things when I entered the store. I went to the laptop section of the store and waited and waited for 15 minutes for someone to ask if I needed help. It was then I realized that there was not one single associate on the floor helping customers anywhere! I went to the employee at the front who greets customers and asked him to help me understand what was going on? That's when he told me that Best Buy has a queue system! "He'll put me in the queue, and someone will come help me". OK, so I went back to the laptop area and waited another twenty minutes! No one even came to me to say, "sir, I'm sorry you have had to wait so long; it'll be another x minutes and I'll be with you." No... not even that!! Totally unacceptable! With this business model, I see them going out of business in the near future.I ended up buying from Amazon.

"Best buy 15 day return policy!"

I bought a body camera from Best buy and it broke 29 days later and I went to return it only to find out that Best buy only has a 15-day return policy!?! I bought this camera online from a bricks and mortar store because I thought I would have better luck if anything went wrong with it. I wrongly assumed it would at least have a 30-day return policy! 15 days! I feel like I paid $139 and got ripped off. I would not buy anything from any company that doesn't believe in their products enough to offer at least 30 days return policy. And sure enough, the camera didn't even last 30 days! I guess they knew!

"I order a newer 16" razor laptop 19 13."

I order a newer 16" razor laptop 19 13 gen w RTX 4090 32 go ram and 2 Tb drive. They slapped a factory stick with those details and sent me a 2 year old razor labtop 15" I 9 12 gen w RTX 4060 16 go ram and 1Tb drive. Sadly they feel like it's okay. Let alone the maze they put you through to voice your concern. They truly don't care. Imagine the people out there that don't know any better. They are like a bank robbers get caught at the door robbing a bank it okay officer well just give you your money back.Renewwc
