"Refrigerator Fire Hazard"

On March 8, 2024 I purchased a refrigerator from Best Buy. It was sold as a floor model but it is my belief it was a purchase & returned item. I paid $125 for pick up & delivery on March 12, 2024. After plugging in the refrigerator to cool an hour in I noticed it was blowing hot air and not cooling. I am disabled and needed to refrigerate life saving medications that I've been keeping in a cooler. Due to my circumstances, I am in desperate need of a refrigerator because of my disability & medication I contacted a technician which was another $150 expense to see if it was fixable. He advised me it was a fire, electrical & safety hazard I immediately contacted the sales representative called with no response. I finally e-mailed and after a few days of delayed response, I stopped by the store in March 15, 2024. I advised the store the refrigerator was a fire hazard and had start to burn the rubber around the edge of refrigerator accommodated by pictures & service notes. The burning rubber smelled. I went as far as to tell them, please don't put the refrigerator back out because of the fire hazard which could've ignited. If wasn't constantly checking for cooling to store medication and groceries this was a disaster waiting to happen. I did not want a refund but a replacement. I simply don't have the physical energy to deal with the delay & going back & forth with the management team @ that location. After being told they would not replace because they did not have one @ that price point. The refunded me the purchase price. It took over a week for the refund to be processed. When I advised them of the additional expenses $325 for loss of unrefrigemedication and nearly $200 in groceries, they started to ignore my calls. If I had known the customer service would be this bad, first I would NOT have purchased from Best Buy and secondly with the additional expenses I would have purchased a different brand new. I contacted customer service 3 times trying to resolve the issue & to speak with a manager. After the 3rd call the csr picked up the phone and laid it down. During my 25 minute hold, I was able to hear other conversations with Best Buy customers that included names, address, & account numbers while the representative kept clearing his throat which is breach of customer confidentiality. Best Buy can pull the recorded call. Finally the sales rep called me yesterday March 18, 2024 while which is a nice person but the store main concern was me purchasing other items we discussed (dishwasher & stovetop) the problems I experienced was secondary. It made me feel as though I was being blackmailed to purchase other items @ a discount in order to resolve the issue. He asked me to send him acceptable replacement which I had a week prior. To date, this has been a stressful situation with no resolution, additional, expenses, & a delay of funds being applied to my account. Due to my disability my treatment schedule will not allow me to go out until Saturday March 23, 2024 creating further delay when all Best Buy had to do was send an acceptable working refrigerator. The sales rep appears to be trying however; the can has been kicked down the road for me to contact another customer center 888-237-8289 when I've already been unsuccessful multiple attempts & due to the way my call was handled, I'm concerned with the confidentiality of the call & my personal (credit card) information. This should've been handled over a week @ the local level. I'm beyond exhausted as of March 21 still no resolution. See pictures on Google reviews.

"I hired the Geek Squad to retrieve my."

I hired the Geek Squad to retrieve my printer to a new modem/router. The gentleman took my CC info. Had someone else, access my wife's laptop. He was going through applications & screens a mile a second. I asked the agent to have the tech call me. He said he already did. Finally I typed call me. I didn't get my phone number added, before the screen went blue. I shared with the other tech agent. He told me to stay on until the other finished. After about 3 minutes I told agent #1, I wasn't comfortable. He said, "Then disconnect". He hung up on me. I've tried every way, I possibly can to call BB's corporate headquarters. BB has taken away, the customer's ability to call them. I emailed them to abuse@. No response for well over a week. Not only did the technician rifle my computer. He didn't complete the fix. Didn't call back. BB's Geek Squad manager said, they would refund my money. I'm not holding my breath. I called Hellotech, they came out & fixed it with no issues. I'll never visit their stores again. We've spent literally thousands over the past 20 years. Big screens, laptops, cameras, iPads, iPhones, stereo components & accessories etc, etc.

"Best Buy or Worst Buy - The stores are going down the Tubes"

I have been going to the Best Buy Store in Gaithersburg for two decades for my electronic needs. My experience was great, so I kept going. But now something is amiss. In Dec 2023 I wanted a car radio installed and was told that their installation shop has closed down as such I should go to their Rockville store (293). Still no issue I am finally met by a store assistant who would help me to get the radio, camera and other parts ordered. Unfortunately this person was not adept at doing so and had to seek the help of another colleague who seemed knowledgeable and finally my wife and I were satisfied with our order. The parts and radio was ordered and we were to return for the installation in two months i.e. Feb 15th to have our radio and apple play installed. As Feb approached and our appointment was a week away we decided to go back to the store to check if all the equipment we ordered and paid for had arrived. Now began a nightmare.We walk up to customer service with our receipt and the man looked stunned. The items though paid for in full were never ordered. But the nightmare did not end here, now they could not give the radio for the amount we paid for. The difference was $1000.00. They would have to re-order the parts and we would not be able to get the radio we ordered but a smaller and inferior inexpensive one. We were perplexed, why would we pay the same amount and get a smaller and inferior radio? Well it was discontinued and the manager could not discount the new radio we wanted. Okay so we picked a Pioneer radio 7 inch screen as compared to the Alpine radio 11inches. Now came the kicker.Your appointment for Feb is cancelled as the store doesn't have an installer and now after the parts come to our home, we need to go the Wheaton Store to have it installed on April 17th 2024 ????. We protested but the Store manager seemed helpless to do anything. He just stonewalled us though he did gave us some rebate on our renewed purchase, which really made no difference to us as our bill remained exactly the same, we had two more months to go for installation and we were getting a smaller and inferior radio.Finally we got the parts but we were so disappointed that we returned everything and purchased new equipment from a local vendor to avoid travelling from store to store and waiting another two months to get it installed or not -Best Buy or as we call it "Worst Buy", is going down the tubes the way Circuit City went. It has incompetent managers and untrained staff. Their auto installation shops are closing one after the other, they do not render any value added services and are quite a headache to deal with. Unfortunately all my years of working with them is coming to an end. I think they do not provide any services which can truly be called value added. The wastage of time and poor service now makes me hesitate to go to them. I will do so for innocuous off the shelf items if required but will avoid them if I can.

"If I could give them negative stars I."

If I could give them negative stars I would. All I wanted was for them to repair my keyboard (I have the letters, they just fell off). When they called back, they talked me into a security/protection plan but would not accept my payment or it would not go through or something. I had been on the phone for hours with them at this point trying to get it done. I admit I lost my cool and asked them to just cancel the repair at home I scheduled and cancel any plan. They kept saying they couldn't do that and threatened to shut down my computer. The guy then talked about how I was going to get him fired and "you're threatening my job." Out of frustration I said I didn't care and he cussed me out and hung up. I admit I was frustand yelling but I have never been treated this way. Also, earlier in the conversation he was asking creepy questions like how old I was and if I lived alone. I don't know if I'm being paranoid but I am scared since they now have all my contact information including where I live. I'm going to call tomorrow to get this resolved. Hopefully my computer still works in the meantime

"NEVER EVER shop here"

NEVER EVER shop here - especially the Wilmington Delaware store. The employees here and the corporate customer service reps are lying and deceptive, and will promise you a rebate on your purchase if you sign up for a credit card and membership at the register - the only thing this does is *increase* the price of your item because the rebates are *not* applicable to the item you are buying, even though they tell you they are. After multiple customer calls and multiple promises that a credit would be applied to my card, they are still trying to charge me the non-rebate price. There is no doubt in my mind this is a scam that comes from the top down. This company needs a class action lawsuit.

"BestBuy free delivery is worthless"

The last two items I purchased from BestBuy and selected free delivery were never delivered. For the first item, a week after purchase I was notified that the item was not in stock. For the second item, a Fedex label was created, but the item was never given to Fedex. Now I am supposed to wait 13 more days, and then my order will be canceled! From now on I will make my purchases on Amazon! They deliver, promptly and on time.
