"Dodgy practises"
Paid upfront for insurance, when I sold my car, and contacted them to cancel my policy, I was told that miraculously, that had changed to paying in arrears. I was told I had to send in a scan of the new insurance certificate for my new vehicle in order to backdate the policy and pay a reduced amount. This I did so, but no one told me that it hasn't been accepted until I got a threatening email saying that my debt would be passed to a collection agency. When I queried this I was told I had to submit a v888. I had an official form from dvla acknowledging change of ownership which dvla confirmed to me was legally acceptable, one call said it wasn't and I had to pay the full amount. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. VERY DODGY PRACTISES

"The worst of the worst"
The worst of the worst! Don't touch them with a barge pole. There isn't a customer service number so you can't talk to someone if you have any problems. They put so many hurdles in place so I had to pay for my no fault claim out of my own pocket in the end. They haven't addressed or answered any of my complaints.

"Misguided"
Yesterday, I opted for an insurance provider I found on compare.com due to its competitive pricing. The policy claimed to cover home emergencies, including hotel stays and accidental damage, among other benefits. As I proceeded with the online application for home insurance, I reached stage 4, where they processed the payment. Only then, at stage 5 I had the choice between premium and exclusive plans. The plan I paid for was standard, which apparently didn't include any of the emergencies except for door-lock, even in which a $25 call charge was not included. Upon realizing this discrepancy, I contacted their customer service via chat to cancel my application. However, instead of canceling and refunding as requested, they upgraded my plan to the exclusive service, charging an additional $50. Fortunately, I had paid through PayPal, which facilitated the resolution of the issue. I would stay away from this insurance.
