"Very poor experience and "scammy" review service"

I contacted them to cancel an autorenew on my car insurance policy. After 30 minutes in the live chat queue I was handled by TW9. Apart from one- or two-minute gaps between posting and getting a response, and irrelevant attempts to get me to renew with them at a cheaper cost, he completed everything I needed to get done. However, I felt at every point that I was being dissuaded from canceling. While I was waiting for all this to run its course, I noticed the band at the bottom of their webpage with "positive reviews" from reviews.io - now when I tried to look at ALL the reviews, I couldn;t find any way to do this, and my subsequent looking-into the reviews.io story brought up a lot of dodgy aspects to their business model. So my overall impression of OneCall (I must stress I never had to make a claim in the time I was insured with them) is to leave with a rather unpleasant taste in my mouth. I will avoid them like the plague in future.

"Error after error."

I had error after error with OneCall when I cancelled the policy due to selling the house that was covered.Firstly they told me the incorrect amount that was due upon cancelling, so after I'd paid, they sent me a new bill for the outstanding amount. I contacted them and the person gave me incorrect information, but eventually agreed to write off the extra amount, due to staff error. Then the outstanding amount was taken anyway. When I asked during each chat for a transcript of the chat, one person agreed and sent me it. However on the other 2 occasions, I was told I could request a transcript at the end of the chat, but there was no option to do this. There's no way to speak to a person, only a live chat and the wait time is unacceptably long.

"Getting in touch is really difficult"

The hardest thing with One Call is getting in touch with them. I waited 25 minutes in a queue for their online chat service today. When I finally got through they were helpful, and the operator I dealt with, UT1, was very good, efficient and helpful. But they don't like you ringing them (despite the name), so having to get in touch with them always makes my heart sink.

"First tried to use chatline"

First tried to use chatline - unavailable until 5.30pm !! Then tried to phone - after a long wait listening to a lot of blurb was kept waiting for ages for an operator. Gave it up as a bad job.No wonder I won't be renewing with them.
