"Stay away if you care about your family"

Due to KIA servicing being fully booked early 2024, I had to resort to using KwikFit to get my rear wheel disk brakes and pads replaced paying a $422 sum.All went ok until a week later. The rear wheels started smelling of burnt pads after an hour drive outside of London.I have called KwikFit and immediately rebooked a check-up. So after whatever check they've done, I was told the car needed caliper replacements, luckily this time they couldn't source the part so I ended up collecting the car and booking KIA servicing instead which was a month away.Fast forward to a month later: lo and behold, after Kia technician checked the rear wheel brakes, they have found two glaring issues:1) The break pad clips were not installed/missing2) The brakes weren't properly lubricatedSo practically, another 400 quid down the drain just for KIA do redo what KwikFit was supposed to have done :(I have raised complaints via KwikFit website chat and was routed to a form to submit complaint, which I have done so already.I have yet to receive any response so I thought I'd write a review here so other people could be warned of potential uncaring and bad work I have received from this company.If you think about this, KwikFit had a chance to redeem themselves on 2nd time I brought back the car for them to double-check the brake issues. What did they do instead? Concocted a ruse so I had to replace the calipers as well without caring to check what was wrong in the first place.What galls me is this endangered my family whilst driving with a "broken" brake installation.Stay away if you care about your family.UPDATE: 2024-Mar-07Got the car back from KIA dealership, and below is the word for word diagnosis:"Replaced rear brake pads as brakes were bindingwith the discs and the correct cleaning procedureof brake carrier was not carried out. Brake padswere not lubricated by grease also caliperretainer clips are missing - replaced clips"The kicker: KIA only charged me 350 vs the 422 quid I paid KwikFit.I have no words :(UPDATE: 2024-Mar-12The complaints department has handled my issue well. So the issue is now being investigated internally with the shop that delivered poor workmanship. Kudos to KwitFit if this results to something actionable and beneficial to future clients of that shop.I am updating my review to 3 stars to average out the top notch complaints handling, i.e. 1 star for the blundered job and 5 stars for the after sales service. I was not very hopefully my issue will be looked at at all, but KwitFit support structure has delivered.The cherry on top is that KwikFit management refunded the fees I paid for the blunder.

"Service rescheduled"

I received a voicemail that my service for that date needs to be rescheduled. I sadly organised everything around it. I have a new date a week later, which is quite a long time, and I need to arrange for someone to be at home for this service. Organising again, hopefully, it will go through this time. The lady on the phone was very kind and tried to help to get it done earlier, but sadly her hands were tight.

Incredibly easy to book, then change my booking from morning to afternoon. The man who came out to change my tyre was great. And got the job done in no time at all.

Easy to book and a competitive price for both the tyre and the home fitting service. I was called by the fitter when he arrived. He was very friendly and polite and, as it was a cold and windy day, he suggested that I went back into my home and he would call me when he had finished, which he did. I had to take a couple of heavy items out of the boot to get to the locking wheel nut and he put them back for me when he had finished. A very good service

"Arrived late"

Nothing wrong with the work, but the workman arrived almost 2 hours after the requested time frame. Customer service was also incredibly difficult to get in contact with

My mother and I discovered that we had a totally punctured and flat tyre after leaving Tesco Elgin car park...we limped to Kwik fit in Elgin at a very slow pace with our four ways on......my car was in the garage for a routine service and my brother was at work.....the lads at Kwik fit Elgin were absolutely amazing......they were absolutely pulled out the place with work, but fitted a new tyre in no time at all......Cameron was both understanding and professional.....he explained all costs to us and gave us reassurance that he and his team would do their best to get us back on the road as soon as possible.....this they did.....I cannot thank Cameron and his colleagues enough.......I would highly recommend

"MOT Flop"

I went to the Kwik Fit in Hexham (Tyne Mills) and it was utterly terrible! I went for an MOT but the points my car failed on they can't even fix! Don't go to Kwik Fit unless you are sure your car will pass and even then don't because its expensive and the service is bad (no-one contacted me to tell me the car was ready to pick up and no indication of time was given at drop off). Avoid at all costs!
