Had a problem with gearbox box not going into gear. Called and arranged pick up. Thought the woman said 28 cancellation fee. Went back to car and gearbox miraculously worked properly. Literally phone back within 10 mins to cancel and expected to pay 28 cancellation fee which was annoying but I accepted. Was then told $98 cancellation. I must have misheard due to a poor line. Contacted them and asked for them to be lenient and listen to the call and hopefully they could see genuine mistake. Been with the company for years and have only called them out once before. Asked them to sympathetically look at it as the mechanic hadn't attended and I cancelled within a few mins of booking and had been long standing customer who has only ever used them once and paid in many times. Flatly refused and didn't take into account long term account holder with them. Will 100% cancel when renewal comes and would strongly recommend anyone to go back to a proper professional breakdown company such as AA or RAC. At least I've never had issues with them in the past. Very poor form and service has soured my relationship with this company. No give or leeway. Very poorNote after reply from company:As I stated no give and no leeway from company and just stuck to the t&cs as their reply. Avoid at all costs. Definitely no renewal from me. They also dont seem concerned about me going elsewhere as they have wished me all the best for the new company. Shows they weren't Interested in any mitigating circumstance or holding on to a customer. Again, very very poor. Shopper beware. Wished I'd stayed with the RAC. A little more expensive overall but much higher quality of service all round. You live and learn.
