Oh my goodness. Where to start with this terrible experienceI m from the UK and went to India in Feb after almost 8years for family reasons but whilst in Delhi for 2 nights, decided to go shopping for my brothers wedding this weekend 30th March . I have never used Pernias but the shop looked beautiful and they had a lot of the designers I d go for. So we went in and I found a gorgeous Masaba outfit at approx rp500. Which I didn t mind because hey, it s my brothers wedding!Having spoken to the assistant helping us, my sister tried the outfit on as I was told the size they had in store would be too small for me; saw it on her and loved it. Whilst having my measurements taken, I asked all the right questions as it s not my first time shopping in India . Would it be delivered in time, would it fit perfectly as there are 4 pieces, would it suit me as I m much broader than my sister, etc etc. I was told yes, yes, yes ma am. It will be perfect. We are measuring you now so it will fit correctly with no issue. GREAT! Having received the item and trying it on major disappointment, anxiety, stress. You name it, I had the emotional rollercoaster! It was huge! To the point I could fit 2 of me in it! So I get in touch with the assistant that helped me, told her the outfit was practically falling off me, sent her pictures, STRESSED that I needed to return this as it s the 23rd March and there is no way this will be fixed in time for my brothers wedding. Only to be told the following:1. They always give a trial as minor alterations are needed. If I can send it back with someone when they are coming to India they will fix it. Like what?!?! This was not explained to me. The lady that took my measurements in the Delhi store clearly said it will fit perfect, this is why I m taking measurements, no need to worry 2. I can wear any alternative for the time being and get altered at a later stage . I am not made of money. I bought this specifically for my brothers wedding hence not minding spending rp5003. Also if you want I can arrange some alterations at London store . I am at my parents house, my brother is getting married on the weekend, and you want me to make trips to the London store 3hours away to get your issues fixed. Not to mention I have a baby that I can t just leave and it s wedding week! Where do you want me to find 8hrs to spareI then asked to speak to a manager. This was even worse. She basically reitewhat the assistant said including the fact I could wear it another time. She said I could take it to the London store, I again went through why I couldn t. She asked if someone could take my measurements to give to the London store when they should have these from my in person visit. Then asked me where my parents lived so she could see what could be done with senior management like how many levels is there to this?! I asked to speak to a manager alreadyAnyway, I did say that if they are able to send someone to come collect it, take the measurements and deliver it back by Friday so I can wear it to the wedding on Saturday, I d be happy. I got a message back with a screenshot of a tailor near my parents stating that I can get the work done there and they will pay for the alterations. I call the place in the screenshot immediately and they say they only deal with western suits and dresses not Indian outfits. I then respond stating this. The rude response I got: They do and lots of other clients has got alterations done from them. So you re saying I m lying? Why would I lie? If I have spent rp500 on an outfit for my brothers wedding, please tell me why I would try to sabotage any possibility I could get this fixed? I have responded saying that I am happy to ask them to do it BUT if they ruin the outfit, I want in writing that I will get a refund? Because at the end of the day, I am going to have to go into there, force them to alter it and if they get it wrong which is likely after they said they don t do alterations to Indian outfits , I will be told it s my problem to fix with the new tailors again, not my first time buying in India. Waiting a response and preferably a refund to get this horrible experience over with so will keep you all updated but for now My advice to buyers is do not go there. Advice to designers is that you will ruin your name attaching them to you. I will go direct to designers from now on.There is no order number on my receipt slip as I paid in person. It was the store on Mehrauli Road. Booking slip 7866.
