Credit unions are a much better option than banks.Story - short versionWanted to buy a travel trailer Went to my bank for the loanAnswer: NOOkay, how about a personal loan for about 5 or 6 thousand, I will put up collateral and buy my own trailerAnswer: NOOkay, how about a credit card, with a high limit and I will shop around.Answer: A card with a $1000 dollar limit at a horrible interest rate Mind you, I had been with this bank for about 15 years. Absolutely ridiculous, horrible service and VERY poor treatment of a long time customerNow enter This company. Much better storyWent in on a FridayOpened an accountAsked for a loan for a travel trailer Also, received a credit card with a high limit and at a great interest rateNEXT DAY! -SaturdayI recieved a call from the loan officer " Mr. Franey, you have been approved for $15,000 dollar loan" (which was actually more than I wanted to borrow). I found my trailer, had it inspected and got the loan.A VERY smooth and painless process.This was followed a loan for a motorcycle.Later when I thought about the purchase of a truck, the credit union preapproved me for $25,000. This would never have happened at my bank.Needless to say, I will never use a bank again for my financing options.Every chance I get, I recommend credit unions over banks.In closing, at what bank were you ever able to talk to the manager? It happens all the time at the credit union. Thank you for making customers feel welcomed and appreciated and your great service.Lastly, ask anyone what interest they earned last year at their bank. It will most likely be a few pennies.
